From registration and supervisor selection to presentation, endorsement and release of results.

Flow and key milestones

Week 1

Register for MFA10702 and select one supervisor through SMAP Online / eProject Online. Selection is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Week 2

Meet the confirmed supervisor, discuss the project and submit the project synopsis through SMAP Online.

Week 4

Appoint a co-supervisor if necessary and submit the required appointment form.

Week 9

The Master Project Committee selects the assessment panels.

Week 12

Students are notified of the presentation schedule.

Week 13

Submit three supervisor-certified copies of the project report.

Week 15

Present the project; panels evaluate the presentation and report and submit their marks.

Week 16

The supervisor submits marks; the Steering Committee records the marks in SAS or TCIS.

Week 17

The Postgraduate Studies Committee endorses the marks.

10
Week 20

Results are released through SMAP Online and the OBE achievement report is prepared.

Master’s Project 2 MFA20812

Completion, final assessment, correction, hardbound submission and exit requirements.

Flow and key milestones

Week 1

Register for MFA20812. Where applicable, submit the application to write the report in English to the Centre for Graduate Studies.

Week 2

Appoint a co-supervisor and submit the relevant appointment form if required.

Week 9

The Steering Committee selects the assessment panels.

Week 12

Students are notified of the presentation schedule.

Week 13

Submit three supervisor-certified copies of the project report using the prescribed front page.

Week 15

Present the completed project; panels assess the presentation and report and submit their marks.

Week 16

The supervisor submits the performance and report marks; the Steering Committee records the results in SAS or TCIS.

Week 17

The Postgraduate Studies Committee endorses the marks.

Week 20

Results are released through SMAP Online and the OBE achievement report is prepared.

Week 21

Submit the corrected hardbound report and complete the Exit Survey.

Important requirements

Master’s Project guidelines

Students should verify current deadlines and prescribed forms before every submission.

Registration

Register in the first week. Master’s Project 1 must be passed before registering for Master’s Project 2.

02

Supervision

Select one supervisor through SMAP. A co-supervisor may be appointed where necessary.

03

Report quality

Follow the UTHM thesis-writing format, meet the assessment rubric and keep the Turnitin similarity index below 30%.

04

Final submission

Complete all corrections, submit the required hardbound and soft copies, and complete the Exit Survey.
